About My Process:

I am Chris Potts, and art didn’t enter my life the “traditional” way.
I have been painting since 2020, and am completely self-taught.

I wasn’t the boy who grew up filling sketchbooks or heading to weekend art classes and retreats. I found painting as an adult to help me survive crippling burnout, and the death of several close friends. What began as a small creative outlet quickly turned into a daily practice that reshaped how I move through the world. How I see my own spirit.

Watercolor and mixed media became the first tools that made sense to me. They felt immediate, honest and real. Over time, those quiet sessions at the table grew into plein air sessions outside, teaching others, and selling almost all the pieces I created.
My work comes from the intersections of who I am: a neurodivergent artist who processes the world intensely, a systems analyst who notices patterns everywhere, a parent learning to balance creativity with real life dealing with two wild young boys, and someone who believes art is one of the most human ways we can connect.

Every piece I create carries some part of that story: a moment of clarity, a shift in perspective, or a feeling that didn’t have words yet. This website is where I share those pieces: the finished works, the studies, the experiments, and my artistic growth.
If my art resonates with you, it’s because the process behind it is real.

I paint to understand the world, and I share it in case it helps someone else feel understood too.
